My Sugar Sweet Paper Treats Project for July!!

I was asked to pick the theme this month!! Yahoo! And since I love flowers and bling--Why not make the challenge Flowers and Bling! LOL!
So this month I decided to alter a comp book. I love altering these types of books (and with school supplies coming out..now is the perfect time to stock up)
I used DCVW paper, some flowers, some metal heart embellishments (got from J's a long time ago) and some purple rhinestone things (I love using these on everything). I used my storybook cart to cut the letters at 1 1/2 inch shadow. And some ink around the edges and there you go-a super cute altered book!!

thanks

I also sprayed my flowers with glitter mist but the pictures are not showing it.:(

Please check out my sidebar..it has the blog candy I am giving away over at SSPT this month!!

July's Challenge--Stars and Stripes--Use of Bling!!

At the Cuttlebug Blog for July, the theme is Stars and Stripes-Use of Bling! Well we rec'd an amazing package this month from Crazy Scraps (our super awesome sponsorer!! Check them out for super great deals.. http://www.crazyscraps.com/ )

For this challenge I used the following products supplied by Crazy Scraps:

Cuttlebug Die 2x2 Circle Frames
Doodlebug Mini Brads-Lady Bug
Doodlebug Crushed Velvet Blue Jean cardstock
Doodlebug Sew American Stripe paper

I also used:
red embossing powder, red and white cardstock, Storybook cart, the Mickey Font, some little rhinestones, and some ribbon

I decided to heat emboss some of the circles and I also heat embossed my brads to help them shine! It is so simple to do! All you need is some embossing powder, embossing ink and your heat gun! Push your brad into your ink pad, then put some embossing powder on it, heat it up, then repeat if you do not like the amount the first time. The marquee cuts were cut from the Storybook cart..the Sew American stripe paper was cut at 11 1/2 inches and the white was cut at 8 inches. The word FUN was cut from the Mickey font at 2 inches. Hope you like!! Let me know what you think!!

Please come join us over at the Cuttlebug Blog this month!! Do the challenge, enter to win!! So easy! Also, if you haven't signed up for the email reminders and stuff..please do so! You never know what Sabrina is up to and if she will be doing a contest of some sort (hint hint) during the month! Also..check out Crazy Scraps..so much will be going on there! Project #2 for the Cuttlebug Blog! "All About Dads"

Here is my second project for the Cuttlebug Blog!!
I chose to make a frame and card for my dad who loves to golf!
Frame Info: I used the herringbone embossing folder on the letters. I chose the Mickey Font and the Everyday Paper dolls for the golfer. He is cut at 5.5 inches. For his face, I used my peachy keen stamps. Added some inked edges and a little gold pen to draw out the details on the shirt, shoes, clubs..and there you go!
For the card:
I again used my herringbone folder on the background paper (which that paper and the folder and other goodies where provided by Crazy Scraps..check them out if you haven't yet..they have daily deals which are AWESOME! www.crazyscraps.com ) For his hat, I heat embossed some of it..then with a brown marker I wrote #1 Pap on it. I again..added some gold pen lines for details on the clubs, shirt and shoes..This golfer was cut at 5 inches...Then of course, a corner photo punch and then the threading water punch was used with the blue cardstock!
So if you have not joined any of the challenges yet on the Cuttlebug Blog..I urge you to do so..they are a lot of fun...they get you using your embossing folders and get your creativity flowing! www.cuttlebugblog.blogspot.com

My first project for Sugar Sweet Paper Treats!

Cheryll issused the challenge this month!! The challenge--Sewing! I created this card using faux stitching cause the sewing machine and I are "fighting" LOL! I wanted it to work and it didn't..it won! I was all excited, got the sewing machine out of the box, pulled it in, got my papers all lined up--oh ya--this wasn't the first card I was making--LOL! I start sewing on my card, all excited, then notice only a couple spots were actually sewen..hmm....so I see the needle came unthreaded..simple enough..I fixed that..I start sewing again to discover it is sewing the same spot over and over and over again..I have HUGE spot of white thread..then under it where the bobbin is it a ton of thread..I am not sure how that happened..but had a heck of time getting the card to come off of the threaded area...so since I am not mechanically inclined..I had to unplug my machine (because I do not know how to thread it..I have my hubby do it for me..but he was at work) and start on this card instead! I guess I better learn how to thread it and stuff..how hard can it be? I was like this with my ATG..I didn't dare run out of tape when my hubby wasn't home, I couldn't figure out how to reload it..I finally learned and it it simple!

Now for the card details!

Threading Water punch

Inkadinkado "Boxed Wishes" Stamps

Faux Stitching template-HOTP "Easy Stitches"

Staz On ink

A mixture of Souffle pens and a gel pen for the "stitches"

Marker and Gelly Roll pen for the coloring

A gold CM pen for the stars

Butterfly

Mixture of paper

Cuttlebug Blog's June Project #1 All About Dads/Fathers

So I bought Robotz for the font (thanks Jenny for pointing it out to me LOL) and once I opened it and starting looking at the cute robots I couldn't wait to make one!! Here is my first Robotz card!
I used diamond cut and stars embossing folders..I just love the way the diamond cut looks with the metallic paper (which Ann and I picked up at the Stamp show in Ohio)..My robot was cut at 4 inches...He is actually 3 colors.black background then the gray and blue...I inked his "wheels" with silver pigment ink to help them stand out against the black background. I also inked the blue cardstock..added a couple brads and some googly
eyes!! What do you think??

Cuttlebug Blog's June Challenge All About Fathers!!

Here is a card I made for the challenge over at the Cuttlebug Blog!! Don't forget to join us every month for the challenge!! You could win an awesome prize!
For this card...I wanted to create a camo look so I used some glossy paper and 3 alcohol inks (Expresso, Cloudy Blue and lettuce)..For the embossing, I chose Herringbone and Swiss Dots.
The "doll" is from Everyday Paper Dolls--cut at 3 1/2 inches. Paper is mostly Bo Bunny..(thanks Crazy Scraps for providing so many great goodies)
The card was cut at 11 inches by 4 inches..scored in 2 places to create the fold..on the inside will be the sentiment.
Other products used:
Cat's Eye Ink for the ink on the face (which for some reason was very wet and smudged :(
Peachy Keen Stamps
Ribbons
Button
Gold Pen for outlines on the outfit--the collar has a brown marker but is hard to see--white pen for his fingernails..
So what do you think???
